After the independence of the country and the formation of linguistic provinces, the Directorate of Languages ​​and Kannada Development was working for Kannada development. The subjects of culture were under the purview of the Textbook Directorate. “The idea of ​​bringing together the complementary Kannada language and culture within the same department began in the 70s. It came into operation in 1977 and was established as the Directorate of Kannada and Culture. Then came the Bangalore district, which came to be exclusively a separate district in 1986, thus becoming the “Bangalore Rural District”. The Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala and Hoskote taluks are located within the Bangalore rural district.

Historic places in the district: Devanahalli Fort (birthplace of Tipu); Shivagange; Makali Durga, Avati hill; Nilgulu Fort (Devanahalli); Rivers: Arkavathi, South Pinakini. Religious field: Ghati Subramanya Temple, Madhure Shanimahathma Temple, Devanahalli Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple; Hulakadi Veerabhadra Temple; Animukteshwara Temple, Hoskote; The ancient Shivagange hill of the basement; Someshwara and Nizagallu Veerabhadraswamy temples are located at Soompura.

Bangalore rural District is a place of rich folk arts. The Muktinatheshwara Temple at Viramangalam near Nelamangala in the district is also famous for its sculpture.
